Mahershala Ali's Blade is In Search of Black Screenwriters

Updated: Oct 29, 2020

I hope your "pen game" is tight because according to The Hollywood Reporter Marvel is looking for writers of black/african descent to bring the new Blade film to life! Partially due to recent social events and the outcries of racial inequality within the production end of Hollywood, changes are coming about to diversify the staff behind the camera. After seeing the success of Black Panther which was produced by a largely african american production team including director, Ryan Coogler Marvel is probably a little more persuaded to take Blade in the same direction.

Details have not been released on how one can pursue a writing position for the film and we're not hopeful that Marvel will put out a public search as many major Hollywood companies usually hire by referral or based off major screen credits. But hopefully we are WRONG and they will put out a public search to give new and undiscovered writers a chance at the Marvel franchise. We will do our best to keep you updated.
