Michael B. Jordan's 'Without Remorse' to Possibly Hit Amazon Prime Video this Year
Updated: Nov 17, 2020
Michael B. Jordan's action thriller, Without Remorse, from Paramount Pictures was set to be released in theaters this year but due to COVID-19 it was postponed to February 2021. Now, per Variety, Paramount has taken the film off of their theatrical release schedule completely, leading to speculation that it will be released digitally on streaming services. Nothing is confirmed yet, but Amazon Studios seems to be the current high bidder and their streaming service Amazon Prime Video will likely be the film's destination. This is bad news for the studio (as is the trend for most studios this year) but good news for us and Michael B. Jordan fans who may get to see this film released by the end of the year.
Michael B. Jordan hasn't starred in a film since last year's courtroom drama Just Mercy with Jamie Foxx and director Destin Daniel Cretton, who made the fantastic yet underrated Short Term 12 and is slated to direct Marvel Studios' film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Jordan was also seen in a few episodes of the Netflix superhero drama Raising Dion that premiered last October 2019. I have yet to see it but from the trailer, it doesn't look like his extended cameo requires any substantial action role. So technically, Michael B. Jordan hasn't been in an action role since 2018 where we got a double dose of his fiery physical presence in Black Panther and Creed II. So it will be great to see him flex his proverbial action star muscle again.
We all know how Michael B. Jordan keeps himself in tip top physical condition for all of his action roles, but the premise for Without Remorse seems to demand a lot of emotional intensity, as well. According to the film's wiki Jordan is John Clark, a U.S. Navy SEAL, who goes on a path of vengeance to solve his wife's murder only to find himself inside a larger conspiracy. The character of John Clark is the second most popular Tom Clancy character next to Jack Ryan and Jordan is the third actor to play the character after Willem Dafoe and Liev Schreiber. Let's just hope Michael B. Jordan can emotionally distance himself a bit and not require therapy as he did after playing Killmonger.
No release date has been set for Without Remorse.
